Privacy.
What happens to the details you send about Casa Jaguar. In short: we use them to answer you and arrange a viewing, we keep them for 24 months, and nothing from Google or Meta loads unless you accept it.
01Who is responsible
The controller is the owner of Casa Jaguar, a private individual selling his own home in Benahavís, Málaga, Spain.
For anything about your data, write to viewings@thecasajaguar.com.
02What we collect
- Your enquiry. Name, email, country, and what you choose to add: phone, timeline, funding, budget confirmation, your adviser, preferred dates and your message. Agents also give the agency, registration number, the buyer's name and country, and confirm proof of funds.
- Where the visit came from. Sent with your enquiry: the campaign tags in the link you arrived by (UTM source, medium, campaign, term, content), the first page you opened here, and the website that sent you (its address without the query). We also note which cookies you accepted.
- Ad click IDs, only if you accepted advertising cookies. The click IDs
gclid, gbraid, wbraid(Google) andfbclid(Meta) and Meta's browser identifiers (_fbp,_fbc), so a click on an ad can be linked to the enquiry it led to. - An event ID, only if you accepted analytics or advertising cookies. A random code, stored with your enquiry and sent with the enquiry event to the services you accepted (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta), so the two can be matched.
- Technical data. The country your connection comes from and your browser type, stored with the enquiry. To stop spam, a salted, one-way hash of your IP address (never the address itself) is kept for 24 hours. Our host keeps short request logs.
- Our correspondence. Replies we send you and notes on how the enquiry is going.
- Sale documents (agencies and lawyers only). When the owner gives an agency or a buyer's lawyer an access code for the private documents page, we keep the agency or firm, the buyer's name and a contact email with the code. Each time the code is entered and each time a document is downloaded, we log the time, the document, a salted one-way hash of the IP address (never the address itself) and the browser type. Every page of a downloaded document carries the agency's and the buyer's name and the date.
03Why, and on what legal basis
- To answer you and arrange a viewing: steps you ask for before a possible purchase (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
- To show a private home only to serious buyers, which is why we ask about budget, timeline, funding and proof of funds: our legitimate interest in security and in not wasting your time (art. 6(1)(f)).
- To see which campaigns bring enquiries, using the campaign tags, landing page and referring site: our legitimate interest in spending only on what works (art. 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time.
- Analytics and advertising: the cookies in section 09, the ad click IDs stored with your enquiry, telling Google and Meta that an ad led to an enquiry, and showing Casa Jaguar ads again to past visitors: only with your consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and art. 22.2 LSSI-CE).
- Keeping the site safe (spam limits, logs): legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)).
- Sale documents (access codes, the download log, the name on each page): our legitimate interest in keeping private documents private and knowing who received which one (art. 6(1)(f)).
- If a sale goes ahead, the notary, tax and anti-money-laundering rules that apply: legal obligation (art. 6(1)(c)).
We never sell your data, never use it for automated decisions and never add you to a mailing list.
04How long we keep it
- Enquiries, with their tags, click IDs and our replies: 24 months from when you sent them, then deleted automatically. Sooner if you ask. Deleted records can stay in our host's backups for up to 30 days.
- The email notice of each enquiry, in the owner's mailbox: deleted at the latest 24 months after the enquiry.
- IP hash for spam limits: 24 hours.
- Host request logs: a few days (at most 7).
- Sale-document download log: 12 months. Access codes (agency, buyer, contact email): 24 months after the code expires, then deleted with what is left of their log.
- Cookies: see section 09.
If a purchase goes ahead, the records the law requires are kept for as long as the law requires.
05Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare: hosts the site, stores enquiries (database in Western Europe) and sends our emails.
- Google: hosts the owner's mailbox, where enquiry notifications arrive.
- Google (Analytics, Ads) and Meta: only for what you accepted. When you send an enquiry, they are told that an enquiry happened, with a random event ID. With advertising consent, Google Ads also receives your email address in hashed form (a one-way code) to match the enquiry to an ad click. They never receive your name, phone or message. For their own advertising purposes they act as controllers under their own policies: Google, Meta.
These companies may process data in the United States. Transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
If you are an agent, we share what is needed about the registration with you and your buyer, and with the lawyers and notary if a sale proceeds.
06Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use (including ad measurement), and to receive it in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time; that does not affect what was done before. Write to viewings@thecasajaguar.com. We answer within one month.
If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos), or the authority where you live.
07Do you have to give it?
No. But without a name, email, country and, for buyers, budget, timeline and funding, we cannot handle the enquiry. You can also simply write to viewings@thecasajaguar.com.
08Security
The site runs only over HTTPS: a visit over plain HTTP is sent to HTTPS, and browsers are told to use HTTPS only. Enquiries sit in a private database that only the owner can open, and the site never shows his personal email or phone.
